I'd love to move to Sezze and just run shit from over there. But I feel like so much comes from being out in New York and meeting people when it comes to getting press and shit. Fuck I don't know. I almost feel like throwing in the whole towel sometimes. I feel like I'm bored with it. Or at least the magazine. I would like to start doing the opposite and just putting out big books like Firework. I wish someone would buy the Tyrant from me and then make me editor. That would be ideal.

I say you come back to Sezzze!!! It’d be a coup. I was burning out big time, but I feel the distance is good, if you just want to concentrate on BOOKS and writing and not deal with the headaches of everything else. But you’re more social than me, so might not work for you. There’s definitely a detachment, out of sight out of mind, I’m getting all these emails after sending these emails, like where are you, where have you been? Like I don’t exist. Which is cool by me.

The magazine was definitely the first thing I burned out on. Doing it online takes some of the fatigue out of it, just a casual thing, update when I’m inspired.

I guess the other thing for you is Chris... No way he’d move here, right? Jess is leaving her job, but going to WFP/FAO gig, so we’ll be sticking around. Her old boss was in town last week and offered her professorship at Columbia, we pondered it for maybe 10 seconds and said nah, not much we miss about NYC or America. Thinking of getting some sort of set up with land and shit, outside of the city but not too far, ideas? Her new gig is in Muratella, so southwest of the city is best, maybe near lake Albano or something. Appian way (in our dreams).

Are you coming later this month when Baumann is coming to town? Is it like an official NY Tyrant sort of thing?

Yeah, I feel ya on all this. The mag gets kind of boring. I'm just not as impressed with short stories as I am with novels anymore, you know? And yeah Chris wouldn't be able to come anytime soon His show starts Bravo in October. We're definitely coming over at some point though. Guess I will stick it out. I got like four books I have promised to publish so I gotta do that at least.

Hm, buying land in Italy. Dude, you should come down Sezze way. Lots of great country down there to get a hold of. You should go visit Ken while he's down there.

Good call on opting for Rome over the Columbia gig. Italy is where it's at.

I'll send you something some day. Got a call from Playboy the other day and they're flying me down to Oxford, MS to write a story on Fat Possum Records. Pretty stoked on that. They're paying me like ten times as much as I've ever been paid for writing anything. Plus, I'm into Fat Possum. Those guys have great taste. They have Spotify in Italy yet?

Everyone came & drank the three cases of wine & there were weird dude's on coke that I didn't know who they were or what they were doing there & I felt weird & awkward having to explain art. NYC is a tough crowd.

Planning my Rome launch party now, there's this cool gallery in Trastevere called Stamperia delle Tevere, I am working with them to make some incisioni & then have a show, cool group of strange artist-types with a good energy.

I hear you about Woodstock, we actually might end up back in nyc next year & I was thinking the only way I'd go back to nyc is if we had a place out of the city somewhere like woodstock where we'd hang weekends at least, just go into town when you need to get shit done-- nyc is definitely a good place to get shit done, that's for sure. Even Rome it seems we constantly have house guests that we have to play tour guide to & I've lost patience for humanity, want to go live in a cabin somewhere & make art or bombs. So if you have a place up there, that's what I'd do if I were you.

Not sure when we'll be back. Yeah, want to check out the Atticus book, been hearing about it. And cool about Chiara's book on Vice. I'm sure that crowd we'll be more receptive to it than they were for Ark Codex, I don't feel that went over so well with the Vice kids.

haha, multiple choice emails, that's fancy. Yah, i can do it, all i would use is adobe acrobat which maybe you have. We're in Spain right now w/ spotty inurnet, back in a few days. if you need something quicker, google "OCR PDF to text"... i think they have free sites that will do it.
