> 8 @ Pismo Fi5h + Chips > finished Cutter's Way (b/c it's a cla55ic Santa Barbara flick) then watched Clueless b/c inurnet says it takes place in Pismo Beach but the only part is the «Pismo Beach Disaster Relief» scene (the cause Silverstone takes up)

07/11 > D-spite the heat + fire warnings, drove 2 Solvang, from 50° + foggy 2 scorching 90° + smokey/hazy > walked around 4 a few miles, 4 az long az we cd take the heat/5moke (not even 5 miles, lowest amount this trip) then went 2 Sanders 4 wine tasting (5 from the Consilience vineyard) > then 2 Casa Casara + mayB 1 other > hotel was a nitemare, pop-up wedding party that turned the courtyard in2 a niteclub ... hear we are in this quaint small disneyesque town + iT sounds like the Lower East Side, but at least we got the room refunded b/c of it > rewatched Sideways (much as we cd hear thru the throbbing music)

07/12 > once the wedding music 5topped, slept OK, but woke up @ 4:45 + when i tried medit8ing on a sound/mantra 2 get back 2 sleep my tinnitus was 2 overbearing so i focused the sound 2 the buzzing of my tinnitus + that sent my head 5pinning, 5piraling in2 the dizzying darkness of my one cabeza ... was feeling good the past few weeks til now, 1st vertigo episode this trip > the food last nite was really salty + the wine tastings probly didn't help (e5pecially the reds, witch we haven't been drinking a lot of) > travel is hard maintaining ctrl over moder8ion

> pu5hed 5outh along the coast on hi-way 1 2 Malibu 4 huevos rancheros, then up in2 Decker Canyon in the fog > the dichotomy of halves + halvenots in Cali4nia is also hard 2 adjust 2 ... seams all the rich ppl do is drive fancy cars 2 their fancy houses + fancy bars/restraunts/clubs + there's no real town centers where every 1 mingles (e5pecially places like Malibu) + if u do find a regular (a4dable) restraunt it's full of service-lvl ppl that c8er 2 the rich ... sorta like what we were talking about w/ the lvl of poverty in these parts outside NYC, how we prefer Gotham where most every 1 walks + takes the subway so everything is in yr face + every 1 is equal (money aint gna buy u clear pa55age on the 5idewalks or a 5eat on the 5ubway)

> 5topped 2 hike the Backbone trail 5-6 miles to the north of Mulholland hwy, 2 foggy 4 views of the ocean (tho hot + sunny where we R) + there's a lot of asshole mansions blocking the views (inklooting 1 w/ a silverstream parked out back ... Sean Penn's?) > then walked another few miles in Calabasa w8ing 4 our room, 9 miles on the day

> been reading Liarmouth by John Waters, 1 of the funnier books i've red in a while + the same lvl of campy degenerate filth u'd eXpect from his movies > may-B not so fitting 4 Cali4nia (tho technically mayB we're in the valley?) but we just 5aw the John Waters exzbit @ th Academy Museum in La-La-L& + R friend RL who we also just saw did the cover art

> rewatched Laurel Canyon, a few canyons over from where we R now, where we just walked up last week

7/13 | Calabasas, CA > morning walk in2 hills above Calabasas on the Juan Bautista de Anza trail > saw rabbits, deer, 3 coyotes, a tarantula + a skunk (guess it wd have been more appropriate 2 take a photo of the Waters book w/ the skunk? what other animal better epitomises Waters? that looks dolled up + pertty but will lay a stinker in yr face)
